The Legacy
of Marian Manor
Prior to its closure on September 11, 2024, Marian Manor faithfully served countless residents, their families, and the South Boston community for seven decades. All former residents have moved to other care facilities of their choosing, and we have been honored to welcome many to our other Carmelite nursing homes. Although Marian Manor has closed its doors, the legacy of love and care from decades of service will not soon be forgotten. Generations of families trusted the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm and our dedicated team of caregivers with their loved ones, something we have never taken lightly.
Since we began operations in 1954, Marian Manor provided holistic care in an atmosphere of Christian understanding and faith and served as a vital part of the community. That commitment does not end here. As such, we will continue to care for the elderly and serve those in need through our senior care communities nationwide and located in Massachusetts including Carmel Terrace and St. Patrick’s Manor in Framingham, our D’Youville Life & Wellness Community in Lowell, and the Mount Carmel Care Center in Lenox.
Our ministry remains committed to the South Boston community and we are currently working in collaboration with local and state leaders to determine the best future for the Marian Manor site, providing updates as we can.
